The award was presented personally by President Bronisław Komorowski to President Kuzma for his contributions to activities supporting Polish education, culture and science. The award was presented at the Polish American Cultural Center of John Paul II, in Cleveland, Ohio as part of the Polish President’s recent official visit to the United States.
A native of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kuzma has served the Polish Falcons for over 25 years. He began his career as Editor and also served as the Director of Communications, Vice President and Secretary/Treasury. He was elected President of the organization in 2008 at the Convention in Troy, Michigan. As President of the Polish Falcons of America, Mr. Kuzma plays an active role in the promotion of various programs that celebrate Polish culture throughout the United States. Locally, Mr. Kuzma also serves as a Director for the Polish Cultural Council in Pittsburgh, and is the Treasurer for the Polish American Congress Western Pennsylvania Division.
Nationally, he is the Secretary of the Polish American Congress. The PAC is a national umbrella organization made up of various Polish organizations and institutions across the United States.
A non-profit fraternal benefit society, the Polish Falcons of America has provided for the physical, social and financial welfare of its members for over 200 y ears. With more than 20,000 members nationwide, the Polish Falcons is the fourth largest Polish fraternal benefit society in the United States. National Headquarters of the organization is located in Greentree, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
Polish Falcon Members participate at the Nest, District and national level in a host of social, civic, athletic and cultural activities. Membership in the Polish Falcons is open to all individuals who share the organization’s mission of promoting the physical fitness of its members and preserving and promoting Polish culture and traditions.
