Celebrate the Anniversary of the Election of John Paul II

Dear Friends,

We invite you to celebrate the anniversary of the election of Karol Wojtyła as the first Polish pope.

On October 16, 1978 Karol Wojtyła was elected as pope and took the name John Paul II. Today, his incredible legacy lives on as not only a religious leader, but also a statesman who was crucial in the fall of the oppressive communist regime in Poland and beyond.

Visit Saint John Paul II National Shrine for a celebration of his legacy on the anniversary of his election to the papacy⬇️
