“Anna Miernik is one of the few really outstanding Polish artists of the young generation.“ Zbigniew Lampart, composer, music critic
As a soloist and a chamber musician Anna Miernik has already performed on 5 continents in 24 countries. She has also won several international and national prizes.
In 2015 she made her Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall in New York. She has also performed in cities such as Rome (Italy), Tbilisi (Georgia), Yerevan (Armenia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tel Aviv and Haifa (Israel), Monterrey (Mexico), Sao Paolo, Brasilia (Brazil), Bogota (Colombia), and Lima (Peru). During her concert tour in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA in 2013 Anna gave 15 recitals, including a concert in the world-famous Sydney Opera House. During her second tour of Australia in 2016, she performed with an orchestra on a very special occasion: it was a concert in Melbourne Town Hall where, exactly 111 years ago, her great compatriot Ignacy Jan Paderewski had concerts.
Anna received her degree with honors from the Academy of Music in Kraków in 2013, after completing her studies with Prof. Andrzej Pikul. She has also studied under Prof. Sławomir Zubrzycki (the builder of the Da Vinci’s Viola Organista). Anna participated in master classes with eminent pedagogues, such as prof. Paul Badura-Skoda, prof. Andrzej Jasinski, prof. Dina Yoffe.
Her first recording featuring Sonatas by J. Brahms and C. Franck was released in 2014. The idea for this CD originated with world-renowned violinist, Patrycja Piekutowska, who invited Anna to join her in the project.
As her repertoire comprises the works of more than 20 Polish composers (including Chopin, Lutosławski, Szymanowski), Anna regularly adds their compositions to her concert programs. In this way she promotes Polish music abroad. Thanks to her fascination with modern music, Anna participated in several premiere performances of various compositions – including ones that were dedicated to her.
