Victor Young – an American composer, violinist, and conductor – was one of those artists who could transcend the boundaries of genres and eras. His music, rich in lyricism and cinematic imagination, has become an enduring part of world film history. The creator of more than three hundred film scores and the author of timeless themes such as Stella by Starlight, My Foolish Heart, and When I Fall in Love, he remains one of the masters of melody — melodies that not only accompanied images but also lived lives of their own, becoming jazz standards and evergreens embraced by successive generations of musicians.

Today, his works are given new life through the interpretations of Grażyna Auguścik and her ensemble. The charismatic voice of the vocalist — full of subtle shades and emotional depth — intertwines with the sound of the musicians, her stage partners for over a decade. Though each is now a leader of their own projects, together they create a unique space for interaction and improvisation. In their performance, Young’s compositions become stories — filled with intimacy, freedom, and jazz imagination — offering audiences not just music, but an experience that lingers long after the final note fades.
