Polish Born Fencer is an American Olympian

Wozniak immigrated with her parents to the United States from Poland when she was one year old.  Wozniak, who is now 24, began fencing at age 9.

Wozniak’s biggest fencing accomplishment so far has been to help Team USA win a bronze medal at the 2011 World Fencing Championships in Catania, Italy.  Because women’s saber is no longer a team Olympic event, each nation can qualify a maximum of two women’s saber athletes. During the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Wozniak served as the alternate for the three-member U.S. women’s saber squad.

She was a member of the Team USA squad that took gold at the Korfanty Cup on June 24th in Chicago.  The event is named after famed saber coach Ed Korfanty and the Polish National Alliance was a title sponsor.
