Zeszłoroczny NAC VII SuperFinał był spektakularnym sukcesem działającej zaledwie od jesieni 2006 Polskiej Ligi Futbolu Amerykańskiego. Wyprzedano komplet – 23 000 biletów. Widzowie zgromadzeni na trybunach było świadkami pierwszego w historii mistrzostwa PLFA dla drużyny Seahawks Gdynia. Po emocjonującym, obfitującym w efektowne akcje punktowe meczu zespół z Trójmiasta pokonał drużynę Warsaw Eagles 52:37. W poprzedzającym sportową rywalizację wielkim pikniku zorganizowanym na błoniach Stadionu Narodowego wzięło udział ponad 12 000 osób. Mecz pokazały telewizje TVN Turbo, nSport HD i Eurosport 2 HD.
– Zeszłoroczny VII SuperFinał był milowym krokiem dla futbolu amerykańskiego w Polsce. Dzięki temu wydarzeniu, które odbiło się głośnym echem nie tylko w Europie, ale także za oceanem, nasza wciąż bardzo młoda w Polsce dyscyplina wzniosła się na nowy poziom – mówi Jędrzej Stęszewski, prezes PLFA. – Wierzymy w to, że tegoroczny SuperFinał przyniesie kibicom jeszcze bardziej niepowtarzalne emocje. Zespół organizacyjny PLFA i całe środowisko futbolu amerykańskiego w Polsce dołożą wszelkich starań by udowodnić, że zeszłoroczny sukces nie był przypadkiem. O prawo gry w najważniejszym meczu sezonu rywalizuje 8 drużyn mierzących się w najwyższej klasie rozgrywkowej PLFA – Toplidze. W VIII SuperFinale na Stadionie Narodowym w Warszawie zagrają dwa z zespołów: AZS Silesia Rebels, Devils Wrocław, Giants Wrocław, Seahawks Gdynia, Kozły Poznań, Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Spartans, Zagłębie Steelers Interpromex.

SuperFinal returns to the National Stadium in Warsaw!
SuperFinal VIII of the Polish League of American Football will be played at the National Stadium in Warsaw. This culminating game of the 2013 Topliga season is scheduled for Sunday, July 14.
Last year’s NAC SuperFinal VII was a spectacular success for a Polish League of American Football that has only existed since the autumn of 2006. 23,000 spectators gathered in the stands to witness the first ever championship for the Gdynia Seahawks. The team from the Tri-Cities defeated the Warsaw Eagles in an exciting offensive shootout, prevailing 52-37. A pre-game picnic on the concourse of the National Stadium entertained 12,000 of the attendees beginning well before kickoff. The game was televised on TVN Turbo, nSport HD and Eurosport 2 HD.
“SuperFinal VII was a milestone step for American football in Poland,” commented PLFA President Jędrzej Stęszewski. “Thanks to this event, which was well-received in not just Poland, but the rest of Europe and overseas as well, we were able to raise the profile of a sport that is still very young in Poland to a new level. We believe that this year’s SuperFinal will again provide fans with unparalleled emotion. The event’s organizers and the entire Polish American football community will make every effort to prove that last year’s success was not a fluke. We guarantee families and fans of all ages an unforgettable experience,” he added.
Eight teams will compete for the right to play in the most important game of the season in the PLFA’s premier division, the Topliga. SuperFinal VIII will feature two teams from this list: AZS Silesia Rebels, Wrocław Devils, Wrocław Giants, Gdynia Seahawks, Kozły Poznań, Warsaw Eagles, Warsaw Spartans, Zagłębie Steelers Interpromex.

The Polish League of American Football (PLFA)
The PLFA was founded in 2006. Four teams took part in that inaugural season. The 2013 season will see 74 teams compete in five leagues: the Topliga, PLFA I, PLFA II, PLFA 8 and PLFA J. The culmination of the 2013 season will be SuperFinal VIII, scheduled for July 14 at the National Stadium in Warsaw, where 23,000 fans watched last season’s championship game.
