The Chicago Chopin Society is proud to announce the first performance in its Tenth Annual Chopin Festival on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 6 PM, featuring pianist May Phang. This event will showcasethe world premiere Sonata by Jaroslaw Golembiowski, Winging It by John Corigliano, Rêve charmant¬-Nocturne by Thomas “Blind Tom” Wiggins, Mephisto Rag by Libby Larsen, Polonaise-Fantasie, Op. 61 by Frédéric Chopin, and Liebestod from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde by Franz Liszt

May Phang began piano studies in her native Singapore where she obtained her Associate and Licentiate diplomas from the Trinity College of Music (London) by the age of twelve. A graduate of McGill University in Canada, she obtained her doctorate from Temple University in Philadelphia. Currently Associate Professor of Piano at DePauw University, Indiana, her prior teaching positions include Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee.

The PianoForte Salon is located at 1335 South Michigan Avenue. Ticket prices are as follows: $25 for the general public, $20 for CCS members, and $15 for students.
