HAMTRAMCK, MI— Grab your favorite running partner for a sweet celebration this Valentine’s Day for Tour de Troit’s 3rd Annual PaczKi Run. Each Saturday preceding Fat Tuesday, runners gather in Hamtramck for this annual tradition; this year’s run will be held at 10 a.m. on the corner of Joseph Campau Ave. & Hanley St.
“Over the past two years, the 2,500 that participated in the PaczKi Run enjoyed the unique route that winds through Hamtramck, taking them past small shops and eclectic restaurants,” said Vittoria Katanski, director, Tour de Troit. “This run has supported the Hamtramck Community by donating $6,000 to the Hamtramck DDA for its non-motorized transportation plans.”
Runners will be motivated to complete the 5K by the paczek and beer awaiting them after crossing the finish line. The fun doesn’t stop after runners complete the certified course either, as dozens of Hamtramck’s unique independent businesses will offer runners a “bib discount,” which includes food, beverage and shopping specials at selected retailers after the run.
