American artists at the Jewish Festival in Poland

– The Jewish Culture Festival Singer’s Warsaw which will come about in the Polish capitol from August 28th to September 4th. The official opening of the Jewish Culture Festival Singer’s Warsaw will take place in the Nożyk Synagogue on Sunday, August 28th. The culminating point of the evening will be Cantor’s concert of Joseph Malovany accompanied by the Choir of the White Stork Synagogue in Wrocław.

 

Joseph Malovany, an Israeli-born American, is one of the most notable Jewish artists in the world and the most famous cantor of our time. Apart from synagogue singing, he often performs psalms and esoteric liturgy, he sings oratorios, opera arias, solo vocal parts in great symphonic works, Hasidic songs and even light Neapolitan melodies. It will be his third performance at the Festival Warsaw of Singer.

The Warsaw of Singer Festival is organised by the Shalom Foundation for the eighth time. Every year it collects the most outstanding artists and producers of Jewish culture coming from all over the world. It is one of the biggest world events promoting Yiddish culture.

The Festival is dedicated to Isaac Bashevis Singer, the excellent Jewish writer of Polish origin, honored by the Nobel Prize in literature. The Festival Warsaw of Singer allows not only to get to know and enjoy one of the most beautiful cultures in the world, but above all to restore memory of the Jewish culture to the entire world.
