Bruce Rauner (Republican) was sworn in as Illinois’ 42nd Governor of Illinois during The Illinois Inaugural Ceremony that took place on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Illinois.
Mr. Michael Pieczonka, CPA., J.D, Mrs. Diana Rauner and Governor Bruce Rauner, Judge James Pieczonka and Andrew.Mikolajczyk.
The Inauguration at the Convention Center was the main event during two days ceremonies, events, concerts, dinners. It was attended by hundreds of state officials, guests, dozens of journalists from major media outlets in Illinois.
Other State Constitutional Officers who were sworn in for their respective offices:
• Evelyn Sanguinetti – Lieutenant Governor (first term). First Latina in this Office.
• Lisa Madigan – Attorney General (4th term)
• Jesse White – Secretary of State (5th term)
• Leslie Munger – Comptroller-designate. She has been designated by Governor Rauner to replace Judy Baar Topinka who passed suddenly in November 2014.
• Michael Frerichs – Treasurer (1st term)
Tom Startek and Evelyn Sanguinetti.
Several spiritual leaders from Illinois were invited to pray for the new State Leaders. Archbishop Blasé J. Cupich, Archdiocese of Chicago, Rev. James Meeks, Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, Illinois, who is also the Illinois State Senator and Rev, Dr. Clifford J. Hayes, First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, Ilinois.
The artistic side of the Inauguration was prepared by The Air National Guard Band of the Midwest, Jim Cornelison-who sang The National Anthem, Beau Davidson, Jeff Mattsey, No Comment A Capella, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
