CARDINAL GEORGE TO ORDAIN FIFTEEN MEN FOR ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO

Later this month, Cardinal George will ordain a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago for service in the Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius.  The men, ranging in age from 25 to 56, include seven from the Chicago area and four from Poland.  The others are from Kenya, Tanzania and Peru.

In ceremonies held earlier this month at the University of St. Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary, these seminary graduates received a Master of Divinity degree.  After ordination, the new priests will serve in parishes in Chicago, Arlington Heights, Niles, Northbrook, Oak Forest, Park Ridge, Riverside and Wilmette.

ORDINANDS
Francis Michael Bitterman
, 33, from Elmwood Park, will have his first assignment at St. Norbert Parish, 1809 Walters Avenue in Northbrook.  His first Mass is May 20, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Luke Parish, 7600 West Lake Street in River Forest.

Thomas J. Boharic, 27, from LaGrange, is assigned to St. Agnes of Bohemia Parish, 2651 South Central Park Avenue in Chicago.  His first Mass is May 13, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Mary Parish, 126 Herrick Road in Riverside.

Michael C. Grisolano, 34, from Chicago Ridge, will have his first assignment at Saint Julie Billiart Parish, 7399 W. 159th Street in Tinley Park.  He will have his first Mass on May 13, at 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Ridge Parish, 10838 South Oxford in Chicago Ridge.

Paul Guzman, 56, from Chicago, is assigned to St. Damian Parish, 5300 West 155th Street in Oak Forest.  His first Mass will be private and by invitation only. 

Robert Krueger, 28, from Hoffman Estates, will have his first assignment at St. Bede the Venerable Parish, 8200 South Kostner Avenue in Chicago, and will have his first Mass on May 12, at 4:30 p.m., at St. Mary Parish, 10 North Buffalo Grove Road in Buffalo Grove

Mariusz G. Manka, 28, born in Kielce, Poland, is assigned to St. Francis Xavier Parish, Ninth and Linden in Wilmette, and will have his first Mass on May 13, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady, Mother of the Church Parish, 8701 West Lawrence Avenue in Chicago. 

Gilbert Rushubirwa Mashurano, 32, born in Bukoba, Tanzania, will have his first assignment at St. James Parish, 831 North Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.  His first Mass will be May 12, at 4 p.m. at St. Eulalia Parish, 1851 South 9th Avenue in Maywood.

Anthony Nyoro Muraya, 36, born in Nairobi, Kenya, is assigned to St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 320 South Washington Street in Park Ridge, and will have his first Mass on May 12, at 5 p.m., at St. John Berchmans Parish, 2519 West Logan Boulevard in Chicago

Matthew Sean ODonnell, 25, from Bridgeview, will have his first assignment at St. Ailbe Parish, 9015 South Harper Avenue in Chicago.  His first Mass will be May 20, at 3 p.m., at St. Fabian Parish, 8300 Thomas Avenue in Bridgeview.

Piotr Rapcia, 28, born in Starachowice, Poland, is assigned to St. John Brebeuf Parish, 8307 North Harlem Avenue in Niles, and will have his first Mass on May 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Odilo Parish, 2244 East Avenue in Berwyn.

Krzysztof Maciej Swierczynski, 30, born in Jedrzejow, Poland, will have his first assignment at St. Mary Parish, 126 Herrick Road in Riverside, and will have his first Mass on May 12, at 5 p.m., at St. Thecla Parish, 2725 West Devon Avenue in Chicago

Javier Vilchez, 30, born in Jaén, Peru, is assigned to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 4432 North Troy Street in Chicago, and will have his first Mass on May 13, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Mark Parish, 1048 North Campbell Avenue in Chicago.

James F. Wallace, 26, from Winnetka, will have his first assignment at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish, 920 West Granville Avenue in Park Ridge.  His first Mass will be May 12, at 5 p.m. at Saints Faith, Hope and Charity Parish, 191 Linden Street in Winnetka.

Marcin Zasada, 33, born in Wielun, Poland, is assigned to St. Ladislaus Parish, 3343 North Long Avenue in Chicago, and will have his first Mass on May 13, at 11 a.m., at St. Damian Parish, 5300 West 155th Street in Oak Forest

On Tuesday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m., Cardinal George will be the main celebrant at a Mass at Saint John Cantius Parish, 825 North Carpenter Street in Chicago, during which he will ordain Scott Thelander a priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago for service in the Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius.
