Casa Central’s Violence Prevention and Intervention Program Receives a $60,000 Grant from the Irving Harris Foundation

January 11th, 2024 (Chicago, IL) – Casa Central is pleased to announce that we received a $60,000 grant for our Violence Prevention and Intervention (VPI) Program from the Irving Harris Foundation.

The Chicago-based Irving Harris Foundation is a small, private family foundation established in 1946. Its funding focuses on the healthy development and growth of young children and their families and draws upon Jewish values to support positive social change. The Foundation carries on the vision of its founder, philanthropist Irving Harris, who believed such change is only possible when diverse perspectives are included, and authentic partnerships are forged and nurtured.

This generous grant will fund essential services at Casa Central. Since 1987, Casa Central’s VPI Program has helped children, adults, seniors, and families who have been impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, community violence, and other traumas. The program facilitates healing and disrupts the cycle of a potential life of violence in the future.

We thank the Irving Harris Foundation for their charitable grant that will help us continue our efforts and services for our program participants. Casa Central is deeply grateful for their contribution.
