Paulina Kapuścińska, Consul General of Poland in Chicago, met Illinois Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner on Wednesday, December 10.
During the meeting Consul Kapuścińska invited Governor-Elect Rauner to pay his first ever visit to Poland. She also extended Christmas and New Year’s wishes to the Governor-Elect.
Bruce Rauner declared himself willing to strengthen his office’s cooperation with the Polish Consulate for Polonia and pledged a stronger cooperation with Poland.
Governor-Elect Rauner also expressed his respect for the Polish-Americans of Illinois and their great contributions to the state of Illinois. He also noted that the non-inclusion of Poland in the Visa Waiver Program remains an unresolved issue.
The Chicago Consular Corps’ meeting with Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner was organized by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Spotkanie Konsul Kapuścińskiej i Gubernatora elekta Raunera
Paulina Kapuścińska, konsul generalny RP w Chicago, złożyła życzenia świąteczne i noworoczne gubernatorowi elektowi Bruce’owi Raunerowi.
Konsul zaprosiła również gubernatora-elekta do odwiedzenia Polski, w której jak sam przyznał jeszcze nie był.
Gubernator-elekt Rauner złożył deklarację ścisłej współpracy z konsulatem na rzecz Polonii oraz wzmocnienia współpracy z Polską.
Wyraził także słowa szacunku dla polonijnej części mieszkańców stanu Illinois za ich wielki wkład w budowę dobrobytu stanu Illinois. Przyznał też, iż ciągle ważnym i nierozwiązanym problemem jest brak włączenia Polski do amerykańskiego programu Visa Waiver.
Spotkanie z gubernatorem-elektem oraz korpusem konsularnym zorganizowała prestiżowa Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
