There could not have been more perfect circumstances for Dar Serca’s third annual Charity boat cruise on Sunday June 29th on a luxury yacht on Lake Michigan. There was perfect weather, great people, great food and great fun during this event which had over 400 guests in attendance, there even was a model dressed as an angel promoting Angel’s Envy Bourbon! The luxurious Mystic Blue yacht had 4 floors including an outdoor floor with sundeck which people got to enjoy the perfect 85 degree Chicago weather ! People enjoyed the live music of Slowianie Band which kept the crowd of people moving and shaking during the entire cruise. There was a fabulous silent auction and raffle prizes that many people were happy to win knowing that all of the proceeds help the kids. There were several of the current Dar Serca children and parents on the cruise all of whom had a great time enjoying the company of Dar Serca’s supporters.

Dar Serca is a charitable organization that has been in existence for over 26 years and has helped over 600 children from Poland/Eastern Europe receive lifesaving medical treatments for them that they could not receive in their home countries. The children are brought from Poland to the USA and then receive specialized medical treatment, some of which include spine correction, limb lengthening, tumor removal etc. During their treatments Dar Serca assists with housing, transportation, translation and basic living expenses and needs.
This was the third year of the annual boat cruise and the idea came into existence when Junior board officer Diana Lebiecki, attended another charity event on a smaller boat and thought it would be a great idea for Dar Serca to do the same. Diana and fellow Junior board member Andrzej Wolosewicz co-lead the cruise even though they are busy with other commitments- Diana is also completing her MBA at Kellogg-Northwestern while working full-time and Andrzej has a busy job and 3 children- they also have the help of other junior board members and volunteers who help with media appearances, sponsorships and raffle prizes. The cruise is so popular that they are going to sign the contract this month for the 2015 year cruise which will be end of June/ beginning of July 2015 on a Sunday. The junior board also has 2 more events this year. There is art for Heart event which is co-sponsored with the Polish Museum of America which will be Oct 4-11th which has several artists present there materials and several events during the exhibition week. Also the Junior board will have its annual Junior Board party which is set for Saturday Nov 8th 2014 at Epic Bar in Downtown Chicago. We welcome you to save the date for all of these events!
