Dear Friends:
We have just received the wonderful news that on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, there will be a meeting during which our foundation will have an opportunity to present our project involving the Chopin monument in Chicago.
These excellent news were confirmed via telephone by the Grand Park Conservancy, which extended an offer to let us present our vision and our plans to build and install an exact replica of the original Chopin’s monument from Warsaw in Grant Park in downtown Chicago.
It is very important that as many of our friends as possible join us at the meeting on Tuesday, February 8, to show unanimous support for our plans.
Over the course of the past several years, we were always given words of encouragement and praise for this important cultural project. It is because of this support that we were able to come to this exciting and highly promising opportunity, where we can now present publicly our project.
It is also the best time to begin a large-scale campaign promoting the project, even though its ultimate success is still far away. Yet, these new developments are nevertherless highly encouraging, and the possibility of realizing our dream becomes increasingly less remote.
For this reason, we need your help now. We need a friendly public comprising fans and supporters of our project in full support of this wonderful and noble cultural idea. Now is the time when we should not only demonstrate our full support and encouragement, but also show by our presence at the meeting that we truly want this project to materialize.
If there are any questions posed with respect to the project at the meeting, we would like them to be friendly, relevant and to the point, as the proceedings will be observed by numerous media representing both Polish and American outlets. For us, the Chopin Monument In Chicago Foundation, as well as for all the residents of Chicago, this is a great opportunity to permanently integrate the wonderful music of Chopin with Chicago’s cultural landscape.
The resulting venue will feature an ongoing series of beautiful summer concerts in Grant Park under Chopin’s monument in its full size and glory, exactly as they have been presented in Chopin’s hometown in Warsaw for over a century. It will be a priceless addition to the already rich cultural scenery in Chicago, and in time will become a permanent feature widely respected internationally for the quality of its performances.
We urgently need the help of many supporters and enthusiasts of this project who will get involved with us, and who will bring other supporters on board with them. Our vision of creating a Chopin Garden in Chicago will not materialize by itself, but only through the unwavering support and dedication of our friends.
We need your help and involvement now.

In honor of Chopin’s contribution to music “We The People of Chicago” want to bring Chopin to Our City and to erect a copy of the famous Art Nouveau Chopin Monument in Warsaw’s Royal Baths Park here downtown in Chicago.
Design
The Chopin Monument was designed by Wacław Szymanowski, a prolific artist known for his emotionally charged art. Like most of his work, it is composed in the Art Nouveau style.
The design is symbolic with the prominent stylized weeping willow over Chopin’s seated figure meant to echo the pianist’s hand and fingers.
