Mayor Richard M. Daley is greeted by Chicago college students volunteering at the U.S.A. Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo where Mayor Daley launched “Chicago Days” which highlights the best of Chicago arts, music, food and sports to promote tourism from China to Chicago on September 20, 2010.

Mayor Richard M. Daley presents Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng a plaque commemorating the 25 years of friendship between Chicago and Shanghai and the shared experiences of hosting visitors to the World’s Fair during a courtesy visit on September 20, 2010 in Shanghai, China.

 

At the meeting with Mayor Zheng they discussed ongoing partnerships in education and economic development. In Shanghai, the Mayor also met CEOs from Chinese companies; spoke at a luncheon hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce to highlight Chicago as a premier destination for businesses and visitors, and launched “Chicago Days” at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo.

 Mayor Richard M. Daley and members of the Chicago delegation of business leaders traveling in Shanghai in September join Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng and members of his administration to sign a renewed sister city agreement expanding the social and economic collaboration between the two cities on September 20, 2010. The two mayors also signed an Eco City partnership agreement to collaborate on a broad range of environmental issues.
