PACC CO-HOSTS LUNCHEON BRIEFING & CONFERENCE ON OPPORTUNITIES IN SWIETOKRZYSKIE, POLAND

CHICAGO (September 14, 2011) — Held Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the University Technology Park at Chicago’s IIT, the Polish American Chamber of Commerce (PACC) luncheon briefing and conference, co-sponsored by the World Trade Center Chicago-Illinois, featured a presentation exploring and promoting business and trade opportunities between Chicago/Illinois and the city and region of Kielce in eastern Poland. This included state of the art IIT’s University Technology Park and the Kielce, Poland, Technology Park; Kielce’s trade show & convention center, Targi Kielce; the Regional Tourism Organization; and numerous investor incentives, such as the Starachowice Special Economic Zone.

The September 13 presentation highlighted the presence of a delegation from the Swietokrzyskie region of Poland, which included Andrzej Mochon, president of Targi Kielce; Szymon Mazurkiewicz, director of the Kielce Technology Park; Cezary Tkaczyk, vice president of the Starachowice SEZ; Malgorzata Wilk-Grzywna, director of the Regional Tourism Organization; and Andrzej Lukasik, advisor to the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship Marshal.

Moderated by PACC board member Anna Morzy (Fragomen), and lead by PACC member Dan Bara, the presentation and discussion also featured remarks by UTP at IIT director Daniel Marselle, its executive director, David Baker, and a brief award-winning film promoting Swietokrzyskie as a tourist destination.

 

The most important goal of the event was to increase interest in the business and tourism opportunities in eastern Poland, with Swietokrzyskie as the springboard.

         PACC president Lucas Fuksa, who attended the event together with numerous other Chamber members, stated that, “Given the high number and the high caliber of attendees today, the PACC has made one more significant contribution to helping identify new markets and new opportunities for our members and for the local Chicago-area business community.”
