Pete’s Fresh Market to Break Ground

 

CHICAGOIL-11am this Saturday, February 11th for their newest location at Madison and Western., Alderman Robert Fioretti (2nd) announced today Pete’s Fresh Market will break ground with a ceremony at 

 

“This is a major development for our west side communities,” Fioretti said.  “This market will offer residents fresh produce and meats in an area previously labeled a ‘food desert’ with few markets nearby.”

 

The new store is expected to bring 75-100 construction jobs and 130 full-time permanent retail jobs to Chicago’s Westside.

 

“We are committed to our local communities.  Pete’s has always invested heavily by constructing quality stores, hiring from the neighborhood, and participating in local organizations in every community it has become part of,” said James Dremonas, owner of Pete’s Fresh Market.  “In addition, while holding each of our stores to a very high standard, we make sure each is responsive to the specific demands of the shoppers in the community it serves.”

 

This is the eighth Chicago location for Pete’s Fresh Market.  Construction is expected to begin immediately after the groundbreaking, weather permitting.  The company anticipates a spring 2013 opening date.
