Co-sponsored by the Consulate General of Poland in Chicago, the event is designed as an opportunity for members of the Chamber and other businesses to reach a large audience of potential customers and business partners.
The Expo has attracted exhibitors and sponsors from nearly all sectors of the local economy. The diverse spectrum of participants will include financial services, travel, real estate, legal and business services, health & beauty, food & beverages, transportation, media, and others. Participants will also include business support services, and local government and economic development agencies. Thus, the event will also be a valuable resource for business owners and for entrepreneurs seeking to initiate and expand their relationships or seeking advice from experts and special guests.
Topics of seminars and workshops that will be offered during the Expo include marketing and employer-sponsored health insurance trends and strategies in the context of ACA and current economic conditions.
Thursday’s ceremonial opening of the event will be attended by City of Chicago Chief Small Business Officer Roxanne Nava and Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, Paulina Kapuscinska.
The Expo welcomes Nava, a native Chicagoan, who brings a decade of experience supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs at the state government level, serving as the Director of the Illinois Financial Institutions and formerly as the Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, where she focused on creating consumer protection legislation and led Opportunity Returns, a regional economic initiative that drives job attraction and retention.
Since her appointment as Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago on Sept. 1, 2012, Paulina Kapuscinska has consistently shown a strong interest in cooperating with the Polish American Chamber of Commerce with regard to the promotion of Poland in the US Midwest, and to trade and business development between Poland and the United States. Prior to her arrival in Chicago, she was Director of the Office of Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked with the Foreign Ministry’s Department of Cooperation with the Polish Diaspora, and from 2007 to 2010, served as Consul General of Poland in Los Angeles.
