Mazowsze, the international travelled dance troupe from Poland will be making three holiday performances at the Chicago Symphony Center. “Christmas in Poland” will be presented Saturday November 27, at 3:00 P.M. and on Sunday November 28, at 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.
An ensemble of 90 dancers, singers and musicians in more than 1,000 colorful costumes will perform. The Mazowsze dancers are accompanied by a 23 piece orchestra.
The group is the oldest professional folk ensemble in Poland. They have given more than 6,000 performances in 45 countries on six continents to a total audience of nearly 15 million people.
In operation for over 60 years, Mazowsze has tryouts each season. Most of the dancers are classically trained ballet performers. Each dancer does 6-9 costume changes each performance. The color, the music, the wardrobe, all total, all encompassing…….. That is MAZOWSZE.
Saturday, November 27, at 3 p.m., and Sunday, November 28, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
