President Trump in Pennsylvania: American Steel, American Jobs
05/30/25
Tonight, President Donald J. Trump was at U.S. Steel’s Mon Valley Works—Irvin Plant in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, celebrating the partnership he brokered between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel — a $14 billion investment that will ensure steel is made in America for decades to come.
Local steel workers had nothing but praise for President Trump and his commitment to revitalizing the American steel industry once again:
-
Plant GM Kurt Barshick: “I can stand here years later and think about our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren that are going to have family-sustaining, good-paying jobs — all because of President Trump.”
-
Plant Manager Don German: “I’m a first-generation U.S. Steel worker … I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Local 2227 Vice President Jason Zugai: “These investments will ensure steel will be made right here in Pittsburgh for years to come.”
-
U.S. Steel’s Scott Buckiso: “I would rather be nowhere than where I am today, with all of my U.S. Steel family… Thank you, Donald J. Trump!”
-
Steel Workers for Trump founder Brian Pavlak: “It’s a great day to be an American steel worker.”
