Romaszewski was visiting Washington, D.C. to participate in a Communities of Democracy roundtable on Wednesday.  The Community of Democracies is a collection of democratic nations that was launched in Warsaw under the guidance of then-Secretary of State, Madeline Albright and then-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Bronislaw Geremek. Quigley traveled to Krakow this summer to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Quigley’s district is home to one of the country’s largest Polish populations.  He has spoken on the House floor in support of the inclusion of Poland as a participating country in the Visa Waiver Program and also co-sponsored and helped pass a measure to grant honorary citizenship to Polish general Casimir Pulaski.
