Miami, October 20, 2015. The 2015-16 Chopin Salon Series opens with a performance by American pianist Jon Nakamatsu. Mr. Nakamatsu recently served on the jury of the 2015 National Chopin Piano Competition and returns to Miami for this special solo recital. He continues to draw unanimous praise as a true aristocrat of the keyboard, whose playing combines elegance, clarity, and electrifying power. A native of California, Mr. Nakamatsu came to international attention in 1997 when he was named Gold Medalist of the Tenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the only American to have achieved this distinction since 1981. Just two years before, in 1995, he won the National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami.
