CHICAGO – Illinois State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka recently congratulated Nobel Peace prize winner and former President of Poland Lech Walesa on receiving the Lincoln Leadership Prize. Presented by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation (ALPLF), the award was given at a benefit dinner in Chicago. Walesa is the co-founder of the Solidarity trade-union movement, and while president, spearheaded the fall of communism in Poland and Eastern Europe.
