Some awarded and most popular movies of the recently ended 25th Polish Film Festival in America will have their singular screenings during traditional post-festival Repeats in the Gallery Theatre (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago).
The Chicago Film Critics Award winner PAPUSZA, a film about a Roma poet expelled from the Gypsy community for “revealing its secrets”, directed by Krzysztof Krauze and Joanna Kos-Krauze will screen on this coming Saturday, 12/7 @ 9:00 PM.
THE FOURTH PARTITION, extremely popular festival pic by Adrian Prawica on a history of Poles in Chicago, a recipient of “Discovering Eye” Award in a documentary film category, will be shown twice followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers – on Saturday, 12/7 @ 7:00 PM. and Wednesday, 12/11 @ 9:00 PM.
Another winner of „Discovering Eye” Award, but in a feature film category, given to most talented emerging filmmakers, BACZYNSKI directed by Kordian Piwowarski will be repeated at a public request on Sunday, 12/08 @ 5:00 PM. The film will be followed by a new full-length documentary on the Polish Nobel Prize winning poet MILOSZ directed by Katarzyna Gondek.
THE STRATEGIST directed by Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska about Zbigniew Brzezinski, a laureate of the Special Jury Award for a documentary film will screen on Friday, 12/13 @ 9:00 PM. At the same time, the participating audience will have the very last opportunity to see the exhibition of Doodles by Brzezinski at 1112 Gallery. Each purchased ticket entitles viewers for a complementary exhibition limited edition poster ($ 25.00 value).
A very popular among younger viewers, GABRIEL, a family fantasy comedy directed by Michal Haremski will have just one more screening on Sunday, 12/08 @ 3:00 PM. Free admission & chocolate for children up to 14 years old.
