Elmwood Park Resident Plans to Travel the U.S. after winning $1million Illinois Lottery Prize

 

 

Elmwood Park, ILDecember 5, 2013— “We moved here from Poland 20 years ago and we have always wanted to see more of the United States.  Now we can!” Stanislaw Widelski said after winning $1million playing Powerball.   The lucky Elmwood Park resident’s $2 ticket matched the first five numbers – 03 – 09 – 19 – 33 – 38- (12) – in the Wednesday October  9 drawing.

 “Because of this lottery win, my wife and I can do some travelling, starting with New York City and Washington, D.C.”  Plans for the winnings also include sharing with family and investing for retirement. 

 Widelski said he enjoys playing the lottery and used to play in Poland, always choosing his numbers randomly and always spending $2.  “I plan to keep playing!” he said.  The winning ticket was purchased at A&D Food and Liquor, 7705 West Belmont Avenue in Elmwood Park.  The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
