Brendan Hannan Named Chicago Fire Communications Manager;

Hannan will oversee day-to-day soccer media relations efforts, game day media operations and local, national and international media outreach. Among other duties, Sui Yuan will help manage Spanish language content, media outreach and assist in day-to-day media relations.  Both will report to Becky Carroll, the Fire’s Vice President of Communications and Community Affairs.

 

Hannan joins the Chicago Fire from the Leverage Agency, a sports marketing and entertainment firm in New York City, where he was a Marketing Communications Manager. While working at the Leverage Agency, Hannan was responsible for public relations, corporate communications and digital strategy.

 

Prior to joining the Leverage Agency, Hannan worked in the Communications department for Major League Soccer (MLS) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) in New York. During his time at MLS/SUM, Hannan assisted with press announcements, story generation and media operations. Hannan has assisted the U.S. Soccer Federation during two FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and worked with the United States Tennis Association in the Player Information Department during the 2009 US Open.

 

Hannan earned a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Colorado. Before joining the MLS League office in 2008, he worked as a Wish Coordinator for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado.

 

Sui Yuan earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Cal State Fullerton and originally hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to joining the Fire, Sui Yuan worked with Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports en Espanol, FoxSportsLA.com, CBS KCAL9 and as an intern for the LA Galaxy. 

 

Hannan replaces Lauren Brophy who was recently appointed Manager of Communications for MLS and SUM.
