reinsdorf Chicago Bulls and White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf and his Arizona business partner John Kaites are taking another look at buying the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team. Reinsdorf and Kaites have talked to the National Hockey League  and city of Glendale about buying the Coyotes before but a purchase and sale of the franchise never occurred. Former San Jose Sharks CEO Greg Jamison also has an ownership group interested in buying the Coyotes.

The Arizona Republic reports on the latest Reinsdorf interest in the financially challenged and league-owned Coyotes. Reinsdorf’s past bid have been hamstrung by him wanting an out-clause to be able to move the team or sell them to a new owner that could move the team and hesitancy to put a lot cash towards the deal.

Kaites is a former state lawmaker and lobbyist who actually has worked for the National Hockey League on the Coyotes front. The NHL has owned the team since 2009.
