Local organizations and businesses will be available to answer questions and distribute information about many health, caregiver and safety topics, including healthy eating, immunizations, Medicare, senior services, and crime prevention. Some of the different organizations that are participating include Stickney Township Office on Aging, Stickney Public Health District nursing and mental health departments, Burbank Police and Fire Departments, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office .
Various screenings will also be offered at the event including blood pressure checks, cholesterol and diabetic screenings, spinal screenings, and body mass index. Speakers for this year’s event include the Make Medicare Work Coalition and the Center for Disability and Elder Law which will feature a workshop on completing power of attorney and living will forms.
