German supermarket Lidl, known for its lower prices, is continuing its expansion across New York with the opening of a new 35,000-square-foot location at Queens Place Mall in Elmhurst on Wednesday, January 24.
This will be the chain’s 174th store in the United States since its 1973 founding and 2015 set up of U.S. headquarters in Virginia.
The doors to the new address will open at 8am this Wednesday.
Expect a ribbon-cutting ceremony, music and free goodies up for grabs, including the chain’s famous croissants, coffee and orange juice; collectable merchandise; and gift cards of up to $100 that will be given to the first 100 shoppers on site.
What’s more, if on premise, you’ll be able to enter your name for a chance to win free groceries for a year. How awesome does that sound?
Back in August of 2023, the company debuted its very first Bronx location. A massive new one is scheduled to open in Park Slope some time this year, as is one in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
