July 12 – Rapil Zhoshybayev, Commissioner for EXPO-2017 dedicated to Future Energy, made an address at the International Industrial Trade Fair INNOPROM-2016 in Yekaterinburg.
“The subtheme of INNOPROM – “Power Engineering Technologies. Energy Efficiency” – is closely related to the theme of EXPO-2017, which is to be held in Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana,” said Rapil Zhoshybayev at the Fair.
He pointed out that the theme “Future Energy” had been chosen for a reason.” As you know, despite having vast reserves of traditional energy sources, Kazakhstan has adopted and has been implementing the Concept of Transition to Green Economy. In accordance with the Concept, there are plans to boost the share of renewable energy sources by 50% of the total energy mix of our country by 2050,” stated the Commissioner.
In addition, R. Zhoshybayev indicated that EXPO-2017 would become a platform for showcasing breakthrough, innovative and promising projects in alternative and renewable energy.
“Currently, the advancement of alternative energy, the development of green technologies and the conservation of natural resources are among the top priorities of humankind. Our overarching aim is to bring to the attention of the world community such issues as reducing CO2 emissions, energy efficiency and developing renewable energy sources ” stressed the EXPO -2017 Commissioner.
“Russia was one of the first countries to confirm its participation in EXPO-2017 and it will have one of the largest pavilions. Mr. Georgy Kalamanov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, is the Commissioner General for the Russian Pavilion at EXPO-2017,” continued Mr. R. Zhoshybayev.
According to him, Russia is traditionally retaining the leading position among Kazakhstan’s trade partners.
Overall it is planned to hold major international events as part of EXPO-2017, such as the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), ministerial meetings on matters of environmental protection and tourism and the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Science and Technology and other large projects.
INNOPROM-2016, the Main International Industrial Trade Fair in Russia, will be held on July 11-14 and yet again will determine the trends in the country’s industrial development, showcase cutting edge technologies produced by Russian and foreign companies, and serve as the most representative national site for the discussion of the country’s industrial policies and b2b interaction with international partners.
