LEGOLAND Florida Resort Offers Sneak Peek of Colorful Beach-Themed Vacation Bungalows

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (Aug. 18, 2016) – When it opens in mid-2017, LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat will offer a great new way for families and friends to stay and play at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, the multi-day vacation destination #BuiltForKids. Conveniently located adjacent to the popular theme park, the all-new accommodations combine the fun of surf and sand with the creativity of LEGO® building sets while offering picturesque lake views from nearly every sun-kissed corner.

As construction continues alongside Lake Dexter, LEGOLAND Florida Resort is giving guests a preview of the whimsical interior décor that awaits guests in each of the property’s 83 beach-themed bungalows, which offer 166 separate accommodations that sleep up to five, including a cozy area designed just for kids.

The village-style resort was announced in March, less than a year after the May 2015 debut of the wildly popular LEGOLAND Hotel, a five-story tower with 152 LEGO themed rooms and suites. With the opening of LEGOLAND Beach Retreat next year, the Florida site will become the first LEGOLAND resort in North America to offer two highly immersive on-site resorts with distinctly unique LEGO theming.

Designed with the same combination of imagination and kid-centric detail that made the year-old LEGOLAND Hotel an immediate hit, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat invites guests to relax in an oasis of endless outdoor fun. Kids can slide, swing, jump and climb at one of many outdoor play areas.  Each brightly colored bungalow will include a shaded patio where parents can put their feet up, kick back and relax.

A short stroll away, the resort’s largest themed swimming pool will offer hours of fun in the sun alongside an expansive sandy play area. Topped by a LEGO lighthouse, a centrally located clubhouse will feature a buffet restaurant, pool bar and a beach-themed space where kids can build with LEGO bricks and proudly display the products of their imaginations.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat guests will enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast buffet every morning of their stay and early access to the theme park. Additional amenities and room rates will be announced soon, along with a new check-in service that will make vacationing at LEGOLAND Florida Resort as carefree as a day at the beach.

The new site will more than double the inventory of on-site accommodations, giving guests even more reasons to play – and stay – at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Next year also will see the opening of LEGO NINJAGO™ World, an all-new theme park expansion anchored by a cutting-edge ride powered by innovative technology never seen outside a LEGOLAND theme park.

The 2017 projects are part of the largest period of growth in the nearly 5-year history of LEGOLAND Florida Resort, a rapid trajectory of expansions that has included LEGOLAND Water Park (May 2012), LEGO STAR WARS™ Miniland Model Display (November 2012), LEGO World of Chima™ (July 2013), DUPLO Valley (May 2014), LEGOLAND Hotel (May 2015), Heartlake City (June 2015), and phased restorations of the historic Cypress Gardens botanical wonderland, which celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2016.
