Niedzielnemu otwarciu będzie towarzyszyć premiera filmu o Feliksie Konarskim pt.: „Ref-Ren spod Monte Cassino” w reżyserii Jacka Piotra Latałły. Podczas tworzenia filmu wykorzystano filmowe, dźwiękowe i fotograficzne materiały archiwalne z okresu bitwy pod Monte Cassino pochodzące ze zbiorów Muzeum Polskiego w Ameryce. W filmie występują weterani spod Monte Cassino oraz przyjaciele autora pieśni z Chicago. Możemy też zobaczyć samego Feliksa Konarskiego we fragmencie wywiadu archiwalnego pochodzącego sprzed 25 lat.

A special addition has been made to Sunday’s program. The PMA will host the public premiere of the documentary, Ref-Ren spod Monte Cassino. The short film is dedicated to the memory of Feliks Konarski, better known as “Ref-Ren” (Polish for refrain). He was a cabaret singer, writer, and performer in inter-war Poland, who found himself in the Soviet Union after September 1939, and then left with the Anders Army in 1942. With other singers and actors, he formed a soldier’s theater ensemble that entertained the troops (not only Polish) in North Africa, the Middle-East, and Italy. He is the lyricist for Czerwone maki na Monte Cassino (Red Poppies of Monte Cassino). The documentary will be in Polish, but a short English synopsis will be provided.
A $5.00 donation per person is requested to help offset the price of the refreshments.
Visitors are advised that due construction on the I-90/I-94, sections of the expressway will closed or constricted on three weekends: June 14-15; June 21-22; and June 28-29. Please consider alternate routes of travel.
The PMA can be reached by CTA #56 Milwaukee Bus or the Blue Line (halfway between the Division and Chicago stations).
Ample free parking to the West and South of the Museum.
