Polish Filmmakers to Present in New York

 Presentations of shorts, full features, animation and docs will run from Sunday, August 2, through Sunday, August 11, 2013 Music in film is the theme for this year’s summer event.   Live musical entertainment will follow selected film presentations.

 

 Co-director of the Kingston Film Festival, Astrid Cybele, recently returned from the Moscow International Film Festival, announced that MEET KEVIN by director Maciek Godlewski will be presented on Saturday, August 3, at 4:00 p.m.   It is a concentrated short with an in-depth personal look at painter Kevin Paulsen.  It portrays the storytelling process that is presented in the Paulsen paintings.  Godlewski, who is an avid painter himself, shows the deep thoughts of a process while sharing a simple and casual cup of coffee.     http://maciekgodlewski.com/

 Another compelling Indie because of its layered approach to comedy will be the full feature, GET A JOB Scheduled for Sunday, August 4, at 3:00 p.m.this award winner, made in Hawaii, is a tutorial for young filmmakers.  It encompasses the lessons of collaboration.  The blending of island musicians throughout the cinematic journey platforms director Brian Kohne as a new talent to watch.  Willie K and Eric Gilliom as the leads do not disappoint.  The film shows how sights can be further enhanced with the energy of superior musical artists.  Associate producer, Raymond Rolak, will host a Q & A afterwards. Rolak, a longtime media professional has written and produced a variety of Polish history and sports projects.  www.getajobmovie.com
