Remembering the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day

Dear Fellow Floridian,

On the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we honor the brave American soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy, France and put their lives on the line to fight for our freedom and stand against evil and tyranny.

One of these heroes was my adopted dad, Orba Scott, who parachuted behind enemy lines and selflessly fought for the well-being and freedom of Americans and families across the world. My father was blessed enough to return home from battle, but many brave individuals made the last full measure of devotion in defense of freedom and didn’t return home.

As your U.S. Senator, a Navy veteran and the son of an Army veteran, I am fighting every day to improve our military, take care of our nation’s veterans, and protect your legacy so the next generation knows and appreciate the sacrifices made for their freedoms.

Thank you to all these heroes for your courage and sacrifice. God bless!
