The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the Third District, and the winning entry will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. The winner will also receive two roundtrip tickets to travel to Washington, D.C., in June for the exhibition opening. The runner-up will have their artwork displayed in Congressman Lipinski’s Washington office for one year.
“The Congressional Art Competition provides Members of Congress an excellent opportunity to showcase the talents of their creative high school constituents and acknowledge our nation’s gifted young artists,” Lipinski said. “I know that amazing artwork is being produced in the classrooms and studios of Third District high schools every day, and I can’t wait to see the entries.”
