Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, in cooperation with Chicago Sister Cities International, presented the third Chicago Sister Cities Medical Initiative Program in October. Dnia 11 listopada już poraz 26 w naszym kraju świętować będziemy rocznicę odzyskania niepodległości z 1918r. Święto zostało ustanowione dopiero w kwietniu 1937r., a następnie w lutym 1989r. Na czas niemieckiej i komunistycznej niewoli jakakolwiek celebracja jej obchodów była zakazana. Fakt utraty niepodległości przez państwo polskie w dniu 25 listopada 1795r. (abdykacja Stanisława Augusta Poniatowskiego) nie budzi żadnych zastrzeżeń. Wątpliwości nasuwają się jednak przy ustaleniu okresu rzekomej ciągłości niewoli oraz jej ostatecznego zakończenia.
HONOLULU– The award winning comedy “Get A Job” with the giant soundtrack was filmed entirely in Hawai’i. Every state across the country wants film production for their localities because of the economic impact. Hawai’i offers some tax incentives just like many other state do. It is an incentive for producers to bring production and post-production to their communities. The tax credits that “Get A Job” received are now helping the film come to market.
ANN ARBOR– The 19th Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival will run November 9-10th. It is an annual event organized by the Polish Cultural Fund-Ann Arbor. Why Polish-Americans should vote for Mitt Romney
The relationship between the United States and Poland suffered substantially during the Obama Administration. Right at the beginning, President Obama decided that in order to gain Russian cooperation in engineering sanctions against Iran, it was necessary to give a prize to Putin that he would value. This prize was a free hand in Eastern Europe, amounting to subordination of the region to Russian dominance. The first sign of this free hand was the resignation from the installation of an antimissile defense shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, planned by President Bush.

The 2012 Paderewski Festival celebrates the legacy of Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) — world famous pianist, composer, statesman, humanitarian, major California Central Coast land holder, vineyard owner, winemaker and almond grower — with four days of concerts and special events featuring internationally renowned performers, young pianists from Poland and the Central Coast region, wine tasting and a special lecture by preeminent Paderewski authority.
