As long ago as June, 2007, Avella has been asking for Council hearings on a resolution he sponsored to “allow for the display of a nativity scene/crèche along with the other permitted religious displays – the menorah and the star and crescent.”

Referring to an appeals court decision on the matter, Donohue recalled that this court “never said that a nativity scene could not be displayed alongside a menorah and a crescent star (though schools could elect to substitute a secular symbol like the Christmas tree). Therefore, it is up to the New York City authorities to either practice inclusion and allow creches to be displayed or practice discrimination and deny them.”

Historia Mistrzostw Klubu „Tatry” w Tenisie Ziemnym

Klub Narciarski „Tatry” jest jedynym klubem w dużej polskiej społeczności aglomeracji chicagowskiej, dającym możliwość rozwijania umiejętności sportowych w narciarstwie. Klub organizuje popularne doroczne Polonijne Mistrzostwa w Narciarstwie Alpejskim, a od 10 lat jest również organizatorem Międzynarodowych Mistrzostw Polonii w Narciarstwie, odbywających się w Kolorado.

Członkowie Klubu Narciarskiego „Tatry” od wielu lat, po zakończeniu sezonu zimowego, uprawiają również letnie dyscypliny sportowe oraz uczestniczą w spartakiadzie lekkoatletycznej. Należy podkreślić, że ważną dyscypliną sportową jest dla Klubu tenis ziemny, sport, który – sam w sobie wartościowy dla fizycznego rozwoju i zdrowia – przygotowuje organizm do wysiłku związanego ze sportami zimowymi.

Klub Narciarski „Tatry” został założony w 1973 r., a turnieje tenisowe wprowadzono w 1978 r. Pomysłodawcą rozgrywek tenisowych był Janusz Barszcz, natomiast pierwsze turnieje zorganizował ówczesny prezes klubu Andrzej Mach. Na lata 1981-1986 przypada kryzys organizacyjny klubu, podczas którego zaniechano organizowania zawodów tenisowych. W roku 1987 nastąpiło odrodzenie tej pięknej tradycji. Zapalony gracz Andrzej Mach zorganizował kolejny turniej tenisa Klubu „Tatry” i był ich organizatorem do roku 1993.

Ta wstrząsająca historia każe nam się zastanowić, czy amerykańskie społeczeństwo nie przekroczyło już wszelkich granic poprawności politycznej.

Jan Paweł Pietrzak urodził się w dolnośląskim Kłodzku. Przyjechał do USA jako dziecko. Kilka lat temu wstąpił do amerykańskiej armii, a dokładniej – do słynnego i elitarnego korpusu Marines, wraz z którym udał się do Iraku. Po powrocie Pietrzak ożenił się i zamieszkał wraz ze swą wybranką w eleganckim domu. Niestety, ich szczęście trwało bardzo krótko.

15 października do domu państwa Pietrzaków wdarło się czterech czarnych żołnierzy – podwładnych Polaka. Drastyczny przebieg zbrodni relacjonuje “Dziennik Wschodni”:

(November 6, 2008) — Two bowlers who have had a lot of success in Indiana found more luck in Lake County Thursday as Todd Book finished atop the field of exempt bowlers and Mark Williams finished in first place in the senior division at the Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship at Olympia Lanes in Hammond, Ind. Book finished the day at +510, averaging 237.46 over two seven-game blocks. Williams wrapped up with +188, averaging 213.92 over two seven-game blocks.

“Indiana’s been pretty good to me,” said Book, who earned his first career PBA exemption by leading the PBA Tour Trials in 2007, also held in Lake County.

“I missed zero spares today; when that happens you’ll be up there (in the standings),” Book continued. “It’s really key out here and I concentrated heavily on that. My mental game is good and I am confident heading into tomorrow.”

(Chicago) — The Honorable Dorothy Brown, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, sailed passed other contenders and solidly won re-election to a third term in office, garnering 68% of the votes cast in last night’s election.

Disregarding the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times’ endorsements of her opponents, more than 1.2 million people voted to return Clerk Brown to office.

“Obviously the citizens of Cook County are more aware of the progress that has been made at the Clerk’s Office during my tenure, than are these newspapers, neither of which interviewed me nor conducted any fact-finding by visiting the Office,” said Clerk Brown.

Chicago celebruje fenomenalne zwycięstwo naszego senatora Baracka Obamy w wyścigu o fotel prezydenta Stanów Zjednoczonych.

Senator Barack Obama mieszka i reprezentuje Chicago i stan Illinois, gdzie mieszkamy. Znamy go dosyć dobrze.

We wtorkowych wyborach Sen. Obama oddał swój głos w Chicago. Senator z Illinois głosował rano w komisji wyborczej w szkole podstawowej Shoesmith Elementary w dzielnicy Hyde Park, w pobliżu Uniwersytetu Chicago. Towarzyszyły mu żona Michelle oraz córki Malia i Sasha.

Z częściowych wyników wyborów prezydenckich w USA, ogłoszonych w USA wynika, że 44. prezydentem (elektem) USA jest reprezentujący Partię Demokratyczną Barack Obama. To historyczny moment w dziejach Ameryki. Po raz pierwszy bowiem najwyższy urząd w państwie obejmie czarnoskóry Amerykanin.
