The Art Basel world art fair recently took place in Miami, Florida. The event was part of “art week”, which lasted from December 4 to 10, 2023.
The main exhibition and art sale took place for the twenty-first time in the huge Convention Center building in the heart of Miami Beach and attracted thousands of contemporary art lovers from all over the world. Nearly 300 international art galleries took part in this year’s edition. The most expensive work sold this year was Philip Guston’s “Painter at Night” (1979), which was purchased by a private collector for $20 million.

The Art Basel event takes place every year in Basel (where the name of the fair comes from), Hong Kong, Miami and from 2022, in Paris.
In addition to the main exhibition, Miami was also the site of twelve so-called “satellite exhibitions” where, in addition to world-famous art galleries, individual artists, often debuting on the international art market, also exhibit their works.
